The Bible Believer is washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ and as such each member of the Body Possess the Self Same Spirit of Christ!
That much said, there are individuals who have positions in the Church, a Deacon, and Elder, a Pastor, A Bishop, a Evangelist to name a few. It is of prime importance that the Believer remembers that these men have that self same spirit that you do. You can know what they know, you may know what they know already, the only difference is that they were chosen by man and God to be in a position of authority because of their fruits.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Men are fallible, the farther we are from the Garden of Eden the more truth has deviated from what was revealed. God has seen to it in every Dispensation a Spirit of Correction has been present to reprove man and the Believer and put him back on the path of Truth. One of the most devastating actions against the truth against pure doctrine, is the traditions of men. All People are creatures of Habit, by nature. It can be a good thing, or it can be a bad thing depending upon what that habit happens to be. Waking up early and reading your bible every day is a good tradition. Drinking all the communal wine after the Lords Supper not so much. It is a Habit of men that they want to streamline things, they want repetition to help them remember things, because we are forgetful by nature. So man creates a Tradition. It starts out with good intentions, but through the ages just like the telephone game the en lesson becomes corrupted and suddenly people can't remember why they were doing what they are doing ostensibly to please God but invariably it turns out that the Tradition becomes the Doctrine, and the True Doctrine is Lost.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
You will notice also the rudiments of the world, in each dispensation there were issues items and behaviors peculiar to that dispensation. Either to combat those behaviors or to favor those behaviors a Tradition was created, and as time goes by it becomes a sacred cow of Church Tradition. No one remembering why it was done, but that's the way we have always done it so we keep doing it. Case in point a good tradition, Many Baptist Churches join for a communal meal after the service, a way of breaking bread and getting to know the brethren and strengthen the bond of Fellowship. So ensconced is this Tradition that the joke has been levied: "What is the Baptist Church's new moniker,....the Casserole Dish!"....Humorous yes, but completely harmless, maybe maybe not, everything can be over done, you can over eat, you make people feel uncomfortable etc etc. A Good tradition can turn bad very quickly.
So the Proceeding Pages we will attempt to address the Sacred Cows of the Laodicean Church Age. This is going to be without a doubt our most controversial page as it will touch on Doctrine, Deeply Rooted Church Traditions being passed off as Doctrine, and it will most definitely shake the tree of Fundamentalism and Gather together the haters of the Truth, but remember always we are Bible Believers, not Baptists, Not Methodists, Not Presbyterians, or any other of the alphabet soup denominations.
One More Thing, If you feel anything we present here is a Doctrinal Error, We Welcome, That is Correct....WE WELCOME.... your feedback, we ask that you keep your emotions in check and that you use the Bible as the basis for your refutation of our position on any subject and that you give us a cogent step by step refutation of our documented position. We whole heartedly believe in the scriptural "Iron Sharpeneth Iron" doctrine, and if we have made a doctrinal error we will certainly fess up to it in public and correct it.
After all we are Bible Believers....Lead by the Spirit of Christ.
